With the success of the 2 fan club conventions, Ben Jones decided to open Cooters Place and host annual conventions for fans to meet the cast. With several acres of land. There was room for hundreds, if not thousands of fans world wide to attend. By the time the weekend was over, it was said to have had over 5,000 fans there.
The cast members that attended were: Ben Jones, James Best, Sonny Shroyer, Rick Hurst, Don Pedro Colley, Byron Cherry, Jack Gordon (Honest John Ledbetter), and Bob Aaron Stephens (Denver Pyle's double & best friend). This all took place over the weekend of: August 24-26, 2001 - YEE-HAA!
